Immer am Ball/Always on the ball

Inzwischen fühlt sich das Norwegische Einsatzteam schon fast zu Hause auf dem Kiez und bringt sich in allen Bereichen höchst professionell ein. Auf dem Foto sieht man Agnethe während der Freiversammlung bei unserem erprobten Anspiel "Turn Around" in der Hauptrolle. Oscarverdächtig! Die Coffeebar am Donnerstagabend war trotz WM gut besucht. Drei Leute beteten an der Bußbank. Das Vorprogramm, ein abwechslungsreicher musikalischer Mix, wurde vorbereitet und durchgeführt vom Einsatzteam.

The Norwegian missionteam by now feels almost 'at home' in the St. Pauli neighbourhood and reacts very professionally in all spheres. In the photo you can see Agnethe starring in one of our tried and tested drama items: "Turn Around". She should be nominated for an Oscar! The coffee bar was well attended in spite of the World Cup. 3 people prayed at the Mercy Seat. The first block, a varied musical programme, was planned and given by the visiting mission team.



Eine Woche Ballkontakte auf den Bolzplätzen in St. Pauli und Altona zeigt Früchte. Wie man sieht sind die Kinder voll dabei und haben Spaß am gemeinsamen Spiel. Inzwischen gehen die verschiedenen Gruppen zweimal hintereinander auf die Plätze, um am frühen Abend ältere Kinder und Jugendliche anzutreffen. Nach drei Stunden Fußball in der glühenden Sommerhitze haben sich unsere Sportler die kalten Getränke im Kickoffcafe redlich verdient.

A week of contacts round the ball on the play grounds and football pitches of St. Pauli and neighbouring Altona shows fruit. As you can see, the kids are in full swing and enjoy playing. The various groups now go twice to the same area, so that they can meet the elder children and teenagers in the early evening. After three hour playing football in the blazing hot summer sunshine the sportsmen and –women have really earned their cold drink in the Kickoff Café.



Jung und alt sind dabei, wenn es darum geht im Kickoffcafe zu helfen. Auf dem Foto sieht man Schwester Klara, älteste aktive Heilssoldatin unseres Korps im Gespräch mit Christa. Grad herrscht tote Hose im Cafe, so dass die Mitarbeiter für einander Zeit haben. Auch mal schön! Wir erleben, dass die Besucher nicht in Massen, sondern in Maßen zu uns kommen. So hat man Zeit, sich um Einzelne zu kümmern und viele gute Gespräche werden geführt.

Young and old alike are on the ball when it comes to helping out in the Kickoff Café. On the photo you see Sister Klara, the oldest active Salvationist (93) of our corps with Lieutenant Christa. Just now there's not much doing in the café, so the co-workers have a bit of time for each other. And that's nice for once! We experience that our visitors don't come in huge numbers but manageable numbers. That means that we have time to take care of them individually and many good conversations are held.



6000 Kriegsrufe wollen an den Mann und die Frau und die Fans gebracht werden. In Hamburg versuchen wir das auf jede erdenkliche Art und Weise. In kleinen und größeren Gruppen schwärmen die Helfer mal mit und mal ohne Orgel aus, um Kontakte zu knüpfen und Kriegsrufe zu verteilen.

6000 Special War Cries wait to be distributed to the man and the woman and the fan. In Hamburg we try to do this in all sorts of ways. In smaller and in larger groups our helpers swarm out with or without the barrel organ to make contacts and distribute the War Cries.
